Un'gor was just getting comfortable. He began changing the fingers on his hand, flexing his neck so that the jade claws fell out. He quickly shoved his normal wooden ones into the sockets, and flexed his neck causing them to lock into place.

He stared at her intently, his large sad looking amber eyes locked onto her face. He waved his hand in a circular pattern gesturing for her to continue, he found her interesting. He wood have spoken, however to begin with he wasn't able to and secondly because he had assumed she would be talking longer than she had, he had put in his wooden fingers which where in capable of carving.

His tail was still swaying comfortably behind him, like a contented feline. He was now leaning on the table, both of his hands proping up his head. This lowered height allowed him to reach her at eye level.

"There isn't much else to tell after that. I'm like everyone else."

Dusk looked out the window, she really needed to go. Her long legs carried her up, "Please excuse me, I must go. I don't mean to sound rude, I've rather enjoyed this talk. Maybe we could have one later, I have some business to attend to."

She moved up the stairs and then to her room. Dusk scrubbed her body quickly with a pumastone, her skin blushing a nice red under the golden bronze hint that her skin now held as Spade took hold. She couldn't let her step forward until they were under the cover night gave her.

Quickly she slipped over the halter dress that fell nicely around her backside. She small slit in the back let her tail wave freely as she pulled on gloves and stockings of a sheer purple material. Finally came the platform high heels.

Dusk slipped from her room, her long black hair now held a slight bounce and was darker from the slightly faded look Dusk kept hers. The sleeve cuffs covered the only scars on her body, her lips curled up into a feral smirk as she remembered her wods to Un'gor. 'Invisible shackles.'

She twirled a cloak around her body as she came down the stairs catching a few stares as she went. Dusk then quickly moved from the building and into the night.

--

The "dethroned" noble sat in the gutter, his clothing smelling terribly of his own filth. Her red eyes glowed softly in the dark. She kept her voice soft and low, "Sir, can you help me with something?"

His slightly glazed eyes couldn't focus on her until she leaned down to his level, "Hey, love."

Again her voice was silky as she pulled out a thin dagger. Spade quickly jabbed it into the man's ribs, his eyes going wide in shock as the dagger punched into a lung. The silver blade snapped out again, this time hitting the heart.

The final gasp came from the fallen noble's mouth and Spade smiled, "Excellent."

A silver bell was pulled from one of the sleeve cuffs and the silver hook was placed over the man's lips that sat open in a gasp that would follow him into the after life.

Spade moved smoothly back to the inn and went to her room. She cleaned up, again scrubbing her skin with the rough stone, this time until her skin shined. She slipped into breeches and a blouse, her feet in black slippers that matched the rest of her outfit.

(Maybe Un'gor could follow her and find out her secret.)

Un'gor eyed her lazily as she left, waiting only until she was out of sight to pursue. He stalked the rooftops, climbing up to them with his clawed hands and feet.

He followed along side her the entire time, his padded feet and toes not making a sound as he padded along the roof tiles. Like a lion the moonlight hit his eyes creating a form of night vision. He had to admit he was only getting more and more intrigued. Now she was not only interesting, but she shared his proffesion, this was indeed something to study a little further.

Sitting on a rooftop as she entered the inn,he removed a small bone carved disc from a pouch at his side. Disdainfully he opened his long jaws, his organic hand showing the disc into his throat, his fingers making sure that it was even inside his windpipe.

He scaled the inn's wall, reaching her rooms window. Scuttling around it's edges making sure he wasn't seen, he took a now jade finger tip to the glass. After a brief sharpening and the application of just enough pressure, he was able to slice clean through the glass. Carefully he traced around the edge of the window. then even more carefully he removed it all as one panel, carefully stowing it on the roof.

Then silently once again he lowered himself into the window, perching on the sill like a 7-foot tall sentient canary. He didn't ask any questions just yet, there would be time for that later, right now he had different intents.

He began to sing. However as his voice passed through the contraption in his through the sounds changed. They caused reverberations, echoing. His voice which normally sounded like a cross between a lion and a dolphin, was now slower, eerie, haunting. It crept around the room, a sound that could have been a humpback whale was it not so high. The notes weren't nearly as long as the whales, they were much shorter, brief, however they all lingered in the air. While drakes don't posses a true "language" this was the closest they got. It was a form of courtship ritual. Not a love ballad, not some kind of mating dance, but the Drake equivalent of asking someone out, other songs would come later. He could just only hang onto that long-shot hope she remotely understood.

Dusk pulled another dagger from her bed and spinning gracefully into a crouch, as if ready for a leap she paused. "Un'gor?"

He looked cramped as he sit on the window ledge, the song slowly filled the room like water. She had heard of Drakes' singing and had in fact had witnessed one like this awhile back. What was he doing? Couldn't he of just knocked or something?

She moved toward him and took his hand, the original one, and pulled him in. Her voice was husky after giving into the smooth cadence of Spade's voice, "What are you doing out there?"

A small thought entered her mind, she might be an assassin but she did like to be properly dressed when she had visitors into her room. If she had visitors. The outfit she had on now was meant for her eyes only, her sleepwear. The blouse was too loose and most people didn't like to think of her as muscular with her slightly bronze legs were showing. She didn't know how the Drake would take it but still she felt slightly underdressed.

She moved back and slipped the dagger back into its hidden home and then stood facing the oversized lizard that now stood in her room. (Sorry if that sounds like gming.)

(not at all)

He was suddenly thinking he may not have taken the best route in his pursuance. He could have easily just waited till tomorrow, but noooooooo, he just had to follow her. And even further he just had to take it one step. Even worse he was...blunt about coming in. Being an assasin privacy was among some of the things he never really tended to respect.

He was a little paniced now, slowly easing off the singing, so that the last few notes bounced around the room once or twice before silence ensued.

"Think of something" He thought quietly. Reaching behind him, keeping his eyes locked into hers he began to scratch into the wall, grasping at the first thing he could think of for words;

"You kill too?" His words weren't well chosen. He imeaditly regretted it, mostly because he couldn't vocally take them back, they just lay there ingrained in the wall, the question mark almost burned into his skull, the feeling of stupidity plastered around inside his brain.

Dusk quickly moved to the wall and pressed her thumb to it. Her other personality moved forward as her anger peaked. The small dent in the wall was the result, "You followed me?"

Her voice was once again the low and smooth voice of Spade, her body shifting slightly to become more feline-like. The faded black of Dusk's hair seemed darker and as she turned her silver eyes were red.

"You won't tell anyone will you? It's the only thing we can do that makes us feel free."

It was the royal "we" but the "we" of a multiple personality. Quickly Spade moved across the room, tapping into the demon that she was. The blouse slipping over her shoulder with the rapid movement but she didn't seem to care. She pulled a sleeve up and showed off the large, unhealed, pink scar there.

"Dusk wasn't lying earlier, we are shackled and every day is a reminder. I kill and take the larger load because she can't handle it. I kill because I have to, you might for other reasons. If you like her though then please be kind or you won't like the result."

With that, Spade moved to sit on the bed...Dusk's silver eyes stared at the floor trying not to listen to Spade growling. Her right hand rubbed against the sleeve covered wrist on her left arm. Her voice husky, low, and weak, "Sorry."

Un'gor didn't know what to make of the look that entered her eyes. Really he wasn't listening to her words. he had hoped that she would understand he wanted to be talked at, and as such had let his mind wander away, letting the words blur together into raw sounds around him. he wasn't sure if she had given some hint as to what the glazed look in her eyes meant, but he could only assume it wasn't a pleasant thing.

Slowly he crept forward, his long slender legs bending of so slowly as he moved toward her. He swiveled his head around looking for details that might tell him what was happening, in the process looking like a giant confused parrot.

He slowly moved his organic hand in front of her face, his long slender fingers unfurling. He then began to wag his hand around, trying to see if she was still "in the room".

He began to bark. Not loudly, but quietly enough that was she still there she would notice. The sound was deep and throaty, almost like a couph, but to repetitive, to uniform and the same each time he made the noice. While drakes don't have any language to speak of, this was a form of hello.

Dusk looked up her eyes blinking rapidly. "I'm sorry. Just thinking."

She pushed a hand through her hair and sighed, "I'm not a good companion, am I?"

(Sorry it's short, don't know what to say.)
